The ZW-9.5/3 is a medium-capacity oil-free reciprocating piston oxygen compressor delivering 9.5 m3/min at 3.0 MPa, driven by a 110 kW explosion-proof motor on 380V supply. The 3-row 3-stage configuration compresses oxygen progressively across three stages with water-cooled intercooling between each stage, maintaining controlled discharge temperatures throughout the compression process. The outdoor explosion-proof design allows direct installation in open-air or partially covered locations without a dedicated compressor house, reducing civil engineering scope and installation cost compared to indoor-only machines.

Oil-free compression is mandatory for oxygen service. The ZW-9.5/3 uses PTFE composite piston rings and rod packings in all three stages, delivering verified oil-free compressed oxygen to the downstream filling manifold or process system. No lubricant is injected into any cylinder at any stage. All gas-contact materials are selected and certified for oxygen compatibility - no copper alloys, no low-ignition-energy materials, and no elastomers that react with high-pressure oxygen.

The 3-stage design of the ZW-9.5/3 provides a key safety advantage over 2-stage designs at this output pressure: each stage operates at a lower pressure ratio, producing a lower per-stage discharge temperature. Lower interstage temperatures reduce the thermal ignition risk inherent in high-pressure oxygen compression and extend the service life of PTFE sealing elements between planned maintenance interventions.

Stage discharge temperature monitoring with automatic high-temperature shutdown is fitted as standard on all three stages, providing a continuous independent safety layer. The control system includes automatic purge sequencing before each start, ensuring no air-oxygen mixture can exist in the compression system during startup. A PLC control panel with local HMI, alarm logging, and remote monitoring interface completes the standard equipment package.

 

Application

Industrial gas plants - oxygen cylinder filling: Air separation units producing oxygen for cylinder filling require a compressor to raise oxygen from ASU output pressure (typically 0.15 to 0.5 MPa) to cylinder filling pressure (15 to 20 MPa in a subsequent high-pressure stage, or 3.0 MPa for medium-pressure cylinder filling). The ZW-9.5/3 at 9.5 m3/min covers the output of a small to medium ASU producing oxygen for regional cylinder distribution.

Hospital and medical oxygen supply: Medical oxygen supply systems require reliable, oil-free oxygen compression from bulk storage to distribution pressure. The ZW-9.5/3 explosion-proof outdoor design is well suited to medical oxygen plant installations where space inside the facility is limited and the compressor must be located in an outdoor plant area.

Steel plant auxiliary oxygen: Small to medium steel plants and foundries use oxygen for cutting, scarfing, and lance injection at flow rates in the 5 to 15 m3/min range. The ZW-9.5/3 covers this requirement in a compact outdoor installation without the civil infrastructure required for a large indoor compressor.

Ozone generation systems: Industrial ozone generators for water treatment, paper bleaching, and chemical synthesis require oxygen feed at controlled pressure. The ZW-9.5/3 provides the oxygen feed compression for ozone generation systems requiring 8 to 12 m3/min of oxygen at 2.5 to 3.5 MPa.

Glass cutting and float glass: Float glass plants and glass processing facilities use oxygen-enhanced cutting and fire-polishing processes requiring sustained oxygen supply at 2.5 to 3.5 MPa. The ZW-9.5/3 covers the oxygen compression requirement of a medium glass processing facility operating multiple cutting and finishing lines.

Aquaculture and water treatment: High-purity oxygen injection for intensive aquaculture and municipal wastewater treatment requires reliable oil-free oxygen compression. The ZW-9.5/3 provides the compression capacity for an intensive fish farming facility producing 500 to 1,000 tonnes of fish per year or a wastewater treatment plant serving 200,000 to 500,000 residents.
