The 2Z-1.67/25 is a medium-capacity oil-free reciprocating piston acetylene compressor delivering 1.67 m3/min at 2.5 MPa, driven by a 30 kW, 380V IEC Ex IIB T4 explosion-proof motor. The 2-row 2-stage configuration with water-cooled intercooling between stages maintains discharge temperatures within safe limits throughout the compression sequence. Anti-static belt drive and copper-free gas path construction are standard on every unit, fulfilling the mandatory material safety requirements for acetylene compression service.

The 2Z-1.67/25 occupies the mid-range of the acetylene compressor series between the entry-level 2Z-0.8/25 and the large 3Z-4.5/25, making it the correct choice for medium dissolved acetylene filling stations filling 15 to 25 cylinders per hour and medium calcium carbide plants capturing acetylene for cylinder filling. All acetylene-mandatory safety features are standard equipment: hard-wired high-pressure shutdown at 2.5 MPa physically separate from the PLC and non-adjustable in the field, copper-free gas path with compliance certificate listing every gas-contact component, IEC Ex IIB T4 explosion-proof motor, anti-static belt drive, and oil-free PTFE composite piston rings and rod packings in both stages. Stage discharge temperature monitoring with automatic high-temperature shutdown provides continuous thermal protection at both compression stages, operating independently of the main PLC.

The water-cooled intercooler between stages 1 and 2 reduces acetylene temperature from stage 1 discharge to near-ambient before stage 2 entry. This intercooling is mandatory in acetylene compression - without it, the combined temperature rise of two compression stages would push the stage 2 discharge temperature above the safe operating limit for acetylene at 2.5 MPa. The intercooler outlet temperature is monitored by a dedicated transmitter with automatic shutdown relay, providing an additional independent safety layer between the PLC control system and the hard-wired pressure shutdown.

A key-switch isolation is fitted to the control panel of the 2Z-1.67/25 as standard, preventing unauthorised restart after any safety shutdown event. After a safety shutdown, the key-switch must be manually operated by an authorised person before the compressor can be restarted, ensuring that the cause of the shutdown is investigated and resolved before the machine returns to service.
