Motor Pulley Single Double Multi Groove American European Standard Taper Sleeve 3V 5V 8V SPA Spb Spc Spz Cast Iron wheel Sheave V Belt Pulley Taper Lock Pulley
Product Description
V- belts pulleys differ from timing belt pulleys for the type of belt ( V-section) they fit in. HZPT has in stock a wide range of V- belt pulley of different types ( according to type and width of belts). The material used is cast iron EN-GJL-250 UNI EN 1561, and for only a few types it is steel C45 E UNI EN 10083-1. They have a small prebore that can be machined according to customers' requirements. Moreover the most common types are available also with taperlock bore.
Here following all type of pulleys available divided by belts and number of grooves they fit in.SPZ (prebored or taperbored with a seat for one up to 8 grooves for belts)

V-belt pulleys, also known as V-belt sheaves, are a core component in belt drive systems, designed to transmit power between shafts using V-shaped belts. Their distinct V-shaped groove is critical to their function and offers several advantages.
Advantages of V-Belt Pulleys:
- Excellent Grip and Reduced Slippage: The V-shape of the belt wedges into the corresponding groove of the pulley. As tension increases, the belt wedges deeper, increasing the contact area and friction. This "wedging action" provides superior grip compared to flat belts, significantly reducing slippage and ensuring more efficient power transmission, especially under heavy loads.
- High Power Transmission Capacity: The robust design and the inherent wedging action allow V-belt pulley systems to transmit substantial power. Multiple V-belts can be used side-by-side on a multi-groove pulley for even higher power requirements.
- Shock Absorption: V-belts have a degree of elasticity, which allows them to absorb shock loads and vibrations that might otherwise damage the machinery or engine. This acts as a dampening effect, protecting components and extending their lifespan.
- Quiet and Smooth Operation: The continuous and gradual engagement of the V-belt with the pulley groove results in a much smoother and quieter operation compared to chain drives or gear drives, which can produce more noise and vibration.
- Tolerance for Misalignment: V-belt drives can tolerate a certain degree of misalignment between the shafts, which simplifies installation and reduces the need for extremely precise alignment, unlike some other power transmission methods.
- Low Maintenance: V-belt systems generally require minimal maintenance. They don't need lubrication, unlike chain drives, and regular inspections for wear and tension adjustments are typically sufficient. This reduces downtime and operational costs.
- Cost-Effectiveness: V-belt pulleys and belts are relatively inexpensive to manufacture and replace, making them a cost-effective solution for a wide range of power transmission needs.
- Acts as a "Safety Fuse": In overload situations or if the driven machinery jams, the V-belt can slip or break, acting as a "safety fuse." This protects more expensive components like motors and shafts from severe damage.
- Versatility and Wide Range of Applications: Available in various sizes, profiles, and materials (e.g., cast iron, steel, aluminum, plastic), V-belt pulleys can be adapted to suit a vast spectrum of light to heavy-duty applications.
Applications of V-Belt Pulleys:
V-belt pulleys are ubiquitous in almost every industry due to their reliability and efficiency.
