Heavy duty conveyor high impact loading apron feeder chain for mining
Product Description
APRON FEEDERS are known for their robust construction, high capacity, and ability to handle heavy, abrasive, or large-sized materials effectively. They are commonly used in applications where a controlled and steady flow of material is essential for optimal operation. produces a diverse range of Apron feeder chains, all designed as direct replacements for OEM equipment.

Key Features / Benefits
. High impact loading;
. Heavy duty ribbed pans (manganese/cast steel)
. Self-lubricated
. Sealed design
. Drop forged link
. Made by selected premium qualified steels
. Longer lifespan
Key Benefits
1.Superior durability and impact resistance: Designed with heavy-duty (often similar to bulldozer-style (tractor chain)) links and heat-treated components, these chains are able to withstand extreme shock loads from large, heavy and abrasive mining materials such as ore, rock and coal. They are designed for continuous 24/7 operation in harsh environments.
2.Reliable material handling: Apron feeder chain provides a steady and controlled bulk material feed rate, preventing material surges or blockages in downstream equipment such as primary crushers. This ensures a smooth, uninterrupted material flow, which is critical to maximizing production and productivity.
3.Long service life and low maintenance costs: Apron feeder chain has a longer service life than other feeder types due to its rugged construction and typically sealed lubricated (SALT) design. Sealed pins and bushings keep out abrasive particles, reducing wear and extending maintenance intervals.
They can handle a wide range of materials, including hard, abrasive, bulky, sticky, wet and even hot materials that are difficult for traditional conveyors or feeders to handle.
4.Reduced downtime, increased uptime: Their inherent reliability and resistance to wear and impact means fewer breakdowns and unplanned maintenance, resulting in increased uptime and reduced production bottlenecks.
5.Better feed control: The consistent and uniform movement of the chain and pan provides excellent volumetric feed control, which is essential for optimizing the performance of downstream crushing, screening or processing equipment.
6.High start-up capability: They are designed to withstand high static loads and can be started at full load, preventing material surge issues.
Applications include:
Feeding the primary crusher:
Feeding directly from dump trucks/excavators: This is arguably the most common and critical application. Apron feeder chains are driven by them and mounted directly below the grate or hopper to receive unsized run of ore (ROM) directly from large dump trucks or excavators. They are able to absorb the huge shock loads from large, heavy and abrasive materials.
Controlled feeding: The variable speed of the feeder allows material to flow into the primary crusher at a controlled and steady rate, preventing surges that could clog or damage the crusher. This ensures optimal performance and efficiency of the crusher.
Stockpile recovery:
Under stockpile or silo: Apron feeders are equipped with sturdy chains to extract material from underneath large stockpiles, storage bins or silos. They are able to efficiently remove material from large top loads and maintain a steady feed rate to downstream processes.
Secondary and Tertiary Crushing Circuits:
Apron feeders are primarily used for primary crushing, but are also used to feed material from a buffer bin or stockpile into a secondary or tertiary crusher, especially when handling coarse or difficult materials.
Railcar Unloading/Truck Dumping Stations:
At locations where bulk material is unloaded from a train or truck, apron feeders can be used to receive the dumped material and convey it to the next processing stage at a specified rate.
Difficult Material Handling:
Large Blocks: Their rugged construction enables them to handle very large blocks of ore or rock that would tear or damage conventional conveyor belts.
Abrasive Materials: Heavy-duty steel or manganese steel scrapers are driven by rugged chains to effectively resist the wear caused by hard minerals.
Sticky or Wet Materials: The segmented nature of the scrapers combined with their motion helps to remove sticky or wet materials such as clay or wet coal, preventing carryback and buildup common with other conveyors.
Hot Materials: In certain metallurgical processes, apron feeders may be used to handle moderately hot materials.
High Shock Load Absorption:
The continuous chain supporting the heavy-duty scraper is designed to absorb the severe impact of large rock and ore falls, protecting the feeder structure and upstream equipment.
