Application of Cement Mixer
Working principle of drum mixer
An electric or pneumatic motor powers the drum mixer. These mixers can mix substances of different particle sizes, including gravel, fruits, ice cream, and even cement slurry.
The mixing mechanism of this machine consists of a mixing drum, a support wheel, and a transmission system. The mixing drum is the working component of a mixer. The mixing cylinder is a double conical cylinder. Two pairs of high and low plates are welded inside the cylinder, which is arranged crosswise and forms a certain angle with the axis of the composite cylinder. When the mixing drum rotates, the blades move the material back and forth in the axial direction while lifting and lowering the material. Therefore, mixed motion is relatively strong. After mixing for 35-45 seconds, uniform concrete can be obtained. A pair of discharge blades are welded inside the mixing cylinder's discharge cone to change the mixing cylinder's rotation direction. The concrete is pushed from the bottom edge onto the discharge blade and then discharged from the cylinder.
It can be used to mix plastic and semi-dry concrete. The mixing drum rotates forward for mixing and reverse rotation for discharging. It is suitable for construction sites, roads, bridges, and small and medium-sized concrete component factories without electricity.
Types of Concrete Mixers
The working principle of a nontilting drum mixer is to stir the mixture without tilting. Instead, the drum rotates around the horizontal axis to mix and produce concrete. These mixers consist of openings at both ends. The ingredients required to produce the mixture are inserted at one end and collected at the other.
Reverse drum mixer
This drum mixer is responsible for producing a single batch of concrete. The entire drum rotates around its axis. The material is loaded into the reverse drum mixer through the feed chute at the other end of the drum.
